SLCC and its Complete Awesomeness
Wow. I had the most rocking weekend at SLCC 2006!

The whole thing seemed surreal from the get-go. When I arrived, I walked down to the end of a dock towards the big old building where the con was being held, and Alcatraz could be seen beyond it. The Golden Gate bridge was off to the left, partially hidden among low-hanging clouds. Inside the building, I walked down a very long hallway where the registration tables could be seen at the end. So thrilling, in a subtle way. :3

It was so exciting getting to meet in person so many folks I'd come to know over the past couple years in SL. I especially enjoyed finding the founders and friends of Luskwood -- wonderful, friendly people! I was surprised how friendly the Lindens were, too. Tons of respect for all those folks.

So many memorable experiences were made that weekend. Watching Frogg and Jaycatt perform their music, listening to the various talks & panels, getting crammed into the miniscule back portion of a van with Satch (!), getting my tail whooped at air hockey by Liam, chowing down at some rockin' Indian and veggie restaurants, watching the live demonstration of "LindenWorld 2001"... I could go on, but I gotta get back to work now. Suffice it to say, the trip more than met my expectations.

Thanks to FlipperPA Peregrine and everyone who helped make this great event happen. It was totally worth it.

Oh, and a HUGE thanks to Lo Jacobs and Kanker Greenacre for the carpool up & down the state. You're totally awesome! =)
